AGM Results

TRY held our Annual General Meeting recently and we are excited to share our new office bearers. Matthew Charles-Jones is taking some very well earnt time away after being a key part of the TRY leadership from the very start over 10 years ago. Mark Parnell is staying on as the Vice President, Katie Friedlieb is transitioning to Treasurer, and Ryan Shaw is taking over from Katie in the Secretary’s role. We thought we’d tell you a little about them.

  • President: Blake Edwards 
    Blake is an engineer and entrepreneur working at the intersection of technology and sustainability. He is passionate about ensuring Yackandandah benefits from the wide range of opportunities that are available to us throughout the energy transition and believes that this will be key to ensuring a thriving Yackandandah well into the future. 
     
  • Vice-President: Mark Parnell 
    Mark was one of the founding members of the Greens in SA and the first member of the Australian Greens to be selected to the SA Parliament. Mark is also a member of YFF, the Yackandandah’s Garden Club, and a keen bird photographer. 
     
  • Secretary: Ryan Shaw 
    Primary school teacher and long-time climate advocate with the Australian Youth Climate Coalition. Ryan comes to TRY with an early interest in Climate Change, having a Bachelor of Science and Masters in Environmental Science. 
     
  • Treasurer: Katie Friedlieb 
    WIth a degree in Business & Communications, Katie works as a Senior Project Officer for the Dept. of Education NSW where she coordinates careers pathways events for high school students. Katie brings this experience to TRY along with a keen interest in electrification and its benefits for regional communities. 

Our greatest thanks go to Matthew Charles-Jones for his dedicated service over the last ten years.
