TRY members Blake Edwards and Matt Charles-Jones, pictured here in front of Yackandandah’s EV charger, are two of the town’s locals interviewed for the SBS podcast, along with Russell Klose from Kilowatt Cars.

It was fantastic to see Yack’s community energy story showcased by SBS News this week. Interviewing TRY’s current and past presidents in the two-part podcast series, along with a few other familiar local Yack voices, it highlighted the secret ingredient behind Yack’s energy transition.

TRY has seen how many local residents are already experiencing the benefits of electrification with lower bills, more comfortable homes and even blackout protection.

Our survey of local residents earlier this year revealed that the top thing locals ask for is simple—help understanding costs, paybacks and rebates in plain English. That’s exactly the gap we’re aiming to fill in this part of our clean energy journey.

We know there is still a lot more work to be done, so we’re continuing to improve our efforts to support local homes & businesses to take the next step on their own electrification journey.

There is local help available, and it’s free. Reach out any time.
