Electrifying news

We’re thrilled to say that TRY has received a $2,000 grant from Rewiring Australia to run an Electrification awareness program until September 2025, helping households save money, create a more comfortable home, provide energy resilience during power outages, and reduce carbon emissions.

We are one of many groups around Australia focused on the benefits of clean energy in our communities. In a show of communal support many of those groups have banded together with Rewiring Australia to promote information via Electrify Everything for Everyone.

Analysis in Yack in 2020 showed an average saving of 63% on power bills by adding solar, increasing to 72% when a battery is added. That’s now even greater if we factor in the lower cost of hardware, improved technology and the increasing cost of energy. Rewiring Australia’s comprehensive analysis shows the savings that an average household can make by electrifying their household activities.

Over the coming months, we will share electrification information at key outlets around Yack, with pathways to learn more and where to start. We’ll also provide snippets in our upcoming series of social media posts on Electrification. So keep your eyes peeled!
