Renewables research trial to be extended in Yackandandah

As you will have noticed, renewable energy is a hot topic both locally and at the state and national level. This week Totally Renewable Yackandandah, in partnership with AusNet Services and Mondo Power, is extending a nationally relevant research trial to all those people who already have Fronius Inverters AND Ubi Controllers.

This program, funded by the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) and led by the University of Technology Sydney – with on the ground technical expertise from Solar Integrity – is at the forefront of thinking in the emergent clean electricity market.

Just how do renewable energy systems (coordinated solar, batteries and control systems) get integrated in an electricity network designed to cart power in one direction from Latrobe Valley to points of use, residents, business and industry? And indeed, how can this be a win for electricity users – residents, business, industry, the government – and
the planet?

The extended research trial builds on the commitment of 14 local households in Osbornes Flat / Ben Valley. Thanks to those innovative folks.

It seems thrilling that Yack is at the positive and pointy end in unfolding the future orientated ‘distributed energy market place.’ Our new electricity retailer ‘Indigo Power’ is part of that market place.

Stay tuned – there’s more to come!!
